Tales of Mystery and Imagination: Edgar Allan Poe is reissued in a variety of formats, including a 180GM heavyweight half-speed remastered clear vinyl LP. Originally released in June 1976, The Alan Parsons Project’s debut studio album is a musical and lyrical retelling of horror stories and poetry by Edgar Allan Poe.

The album features an impressive lineup of musicians. Arthur Brown of The Crazy World of Arthur Brown provides vocals on “The Tell-Tale Heart”, while John Miles lends his voice to “The Cask of Amontillado” and “(The System of) Dr. Tarr and Professor Fether”. Terry Sylvester of The Hollies appears on “To One in Paradise”. Additionally, the complete lineups of Ambrosia and Pilot perform on the record, along with keyboardist Francis Monkman of Curved Air and Sky.

The album was a worldwide success, selling nearly a million copies and achieving platinum status in several territories, including Germany and Canada.
