Traditional blues paired with then-popular rock music, these factors made Steamhammer, one of the most popular live bands of the late 60s. The fascinating guitar work of Martin Pugh with the earthy voice of singer Kieran White ensured that the band was in great demand, especially in Germany. “Mountains” was their 3rd album, released by B&C Records in 1970. Featuring the 10 minute track “Riding On The L&N” and “Hold That Train”, recorded live at the Lyceum in London, this record was a huge success and is still in high demand today.
Traditional blues mixed with contemporary sounds were the main factors of Steamhammer, one of the most popular touring bands of the late 1960s.
The stunning guitar work of Martin Pugh and the earthy vocals of Kieran White ensured that the group was always in demand, especially in Germany. They also released a number of good albums, and “Mountains” was their third.
Originally issued by B&C Records in 1970, it is now available again in full size with its beautifully designed cover. It shows the four-piece group romping through performances like the ten-minute rock epic “Riding On The L&N” and “Hold That Train,” recorded ‘live’ at London’s Lyceum.
