Recorded in 1964, Herbie Hancock’s “Empyrean Isles,” will be reissued as part of an overall Blue Note 75th anniversary vinyl initiative spearheaded by current Blue Note Records President, Don Was. “Empyrean Isles” was Hancock’s fourth album for Blue Note and features Freddie Hubbard on cornet. This release debuts two of Hancock’s most treasured songs, “One Finger Snap” and “Cantaloupe Island.”
