“Space Ritual”, first released in May 1973 and thus soon to be 40 years old, is one of the benchmark live albums in rock history. At that time it reached the UK-Top Ten and in 2005 it was still put on place 8 of the “40 Cosmic Rock Albums” by the magazine “Q”. It was recorded by the legendary Hawkwind line-up with guitarist Dave Brock (the only constant member since the late 60s), founding member Nik Turner on sax and flute and the later heavy metal incarnation Lemmy “Motörhead” Kilmister on bass

For the anniversary, a slimmed-down version of the 2007 Special Edition will be released in January 2013 – this time only the two CDs with the remastered original and the bonus tracks and now in a standard jewel case (instead of a digipack), but still with space rock in its purest form.
