Released in June 1969 in the UK, Empty Sky was the debut studio album by Elton John. The album would not be released in the U.S. until January 1975.
The album features Elton playing the harpsichord on several tracks including “Skyline Pigeon”. Empty Sky was the first true solo album Elton John recorded after leaving Bluesology; it also marked the beginning of his long and fruitful collaboration with lyricist Bernie Taupin.
Beautifully remastered by Grammy Award winning mastering engineer Bob Ludwig.
