Produced by Jim Abbiss (Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, Adele), 2005’s Back Room is the Mercury Prize-nominated debut album from Birmingham based art-rock outfit Editors. Boasting a dark and dynamic sound that references the likes of Joy Division, R.E.M. and Echo and the Bunnymen as well as more contemporary acts like Radiohead, Doves and Elbow, haunting standouts like “Bullets,” “Munich,” “Blood” and “All Sparks” all serve as showcases for the brooding, evocative tenor of vocalist Tom Smith.
