Dina Summer Return with Their Synthpop-Powered Second Album Girls Gang!

Berlin-based indie/electro-wave trio Dina Summer are back with a fresh dose of synth-driven energy on their sophomore album, Girls Gang!

Dina Summer is the brainchild of Kalipo—one half of the legendary electro-punk outfit Frittenbude—alongside Greek-German DJ & producer duo Local Suicide, founders of the Iptamenos Discos label. Their discography includes the critically acclaimed 2022 debut album Rimini, a nostalgic dive into retro disco vibes, as well as the EPs Who Am I (2021) and Hide & Seek (2024). Since their formation five years ago, Dina Summer’s sound has made waves with millions of streams, global radio play, and placements on numerous Spotify and Apple Music editorial playlists. Their music has been championed by DJs such as Charlotte De Witte, The Hacker, Âme, Dixon, Joris Voorn, DJ Hell, Joyce Muniz, and Dubfire.

The new album features 11 tracks exploring themes of empowerment (No More Tears, Girls Gang), outsider identity (Alien, Zombie), transience (Promise Me feat. Curses & Joshua Murphy), nostalgia (Halkidiki), and relationships (Nothing to Hide, Hypnotized). While their debut leaned heavily into Italo disco and ’90s electro club sounds, Girls Gang expands their sonic palette, incorporating elements of new wave, post-punk, electroclash, and synth-infused indie pop.

With a stronger emphasis on songwriting, Girls Gang sees Dina Summer evolving their sound by integrating live bass and guitars on select tracks while frontwoman Dina showcases her vocal versatility, blending spoken word with melodic singing. Despite these developments, the album remains a natural continuation of their debut—packed with infectious pop melodies and anthemic club-ready hooks that define Dina Summer’s signature style.

Girls Gang is available as a white standard vinyl in a 3mm sleeve, accompanied by a black 12″ vinyl featuring alternative and extended versions, plus remixes.

A limited-edition bundle includes the original 11-track album on heavyweight white vinyl (140g) alongside an additional black heavyweight vinyl (140g), featuring alternative cuts and club versions, plus remixes by Damon Jee, DJ Hell, Phunkadelica, and The Populists.
