Super-jewel case CD edition
With the industrial textures of their eponymous debut behind them, Dead Can Dance’s fifth album is perhaps their most focused and concise work. Recorded predominantly in their own studio in Southern Ireland and featuring guest vocals from soprano David Navarro Sust to complement Brendan and Lisa’s contrasting yet complementary styles, the Middle Ages and early Renaissance are a key influence; an atmosphere reinforced by the album’s cover, a detail of the earth phase of Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch’s famous triptych, The Garden of Earthly Delights.
