RAGE were already a hard-working band in the eighties, but they had to find themselves first. On albums like “Perfect Man” (1988) and “Secrets In A Weird World” (1989) the line-up of Peavy Wagner (v./b.), Manni Schmidt (g.) and Chris Efthimiadis (dr.) could let off steam stylistically, on the follow-up “Reflections Of A Shadow” (1990) even with the addition of a keyboard player.
At the beginning of the nineties, however, the metal scene got a more contemporary, riff- and groove-emphasizing touch, which also did not pass the Hern RAGE by. These developments have left clear traces on the two works “Trapped!” and “The Missing Link”. On these longplayers, the trio was able to increase their quality once again and delivered numerous hits, which became a fixed part of their live set in the following years (among others ‘Solitary Man’, ‘Enough Is Enough’, ‘Medicine’, ‘Firestorm’, ‘Refuge’, ‘Nevermore’). The two albums not only gave the band a major popularity boost, but also rightly went down in history as RAGE classics. Now the two legendary albums are released for the 30th anniversary as a special edition digipack, including demo versions and unreleased tracks.
