The Band - The Last Waltz: 40th Anniversary (Deluxe 2CD)

It was Thanksgiving in 1976 when THE BAND took the stage at San Francisco's Winterland Theatre for the very last time. The concert, appropriately billed as The Last Waltz, went down in music history as one of the most revered performances ever. Not least because Rick Danko, Levon Helm, Garth Hudson, Richard Mamel and Robbie Robertson were backed by a brilliant all-star group of then-legendary music pioneers, including Eric Clapton, Neil Diamond, Bob Dylan, Ronnie Hawkins, Dr. John, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, Muddy Waters and Neil Young

The spectacular evening was captured on film by director Martin Scorcese and shown in movie theaters in April 1978. The Last Waltz is still considered one of the best concert films ever made!
